Keeping the club full and the shows sweaty through fresh branding

There are breweries content to put out a couple of beers and call it a day. Not Pirate Life Brewing. Filled with ambitious, passionate and creative minds who love to explore every corner of the category, they celebrate how beer can bring people together when mixed with culture and third spaces.

As part of their in-house 3-person design team, I helped craft the brand's bold, art-driven presence across every possible touchpoint.

Sometimes that was helping design the unique identities, packaging and retail materials of the 100+ unique beers that were brought to market. Other times it was designing the signage for a music or beer festival, co-ordinating with printers to produce it, and then photographing the energy and excitement of the punters bringing the brand with them as they watched their favourite band.

I helped create point of sale assets for venues and stores, and re-branded the Port Adelaide venue's barbershop with a complete overhaul of signage and digital and physical assets, taking inspiration from the colour palette of the artwork painted on the walls.

Pirate Life is as much an events organiser as it is a brewery. Getting people together to share stories alongside food and drink is part of it's DNA. Over the course of my time at Pirate Life, I helped shape the visual narratives around these through artwork, signage and photography.
